Game Viewing Safaris and other Activities

We promise to give you an unforgettable experience by showing you all that the Kruger as to offer. You will have a true African safari adventure in the world’s best wildlife area – the Kruger National Park. All our safaris are conducted in a registered open game viewing vehicle. Our full–time guides who are well qualified and experienced and will share their passion for the African Bush and all its creatures with you.

Please note that it is extremely important to advise us of your planned itinerary at least a month before your arrival date. Seats are limited and we don’t want you to be disappointed if there is no availability any more.

FULL DAY SAFARIS – R1535 pp (8-9 hrs.) AND HALF DAY SAFARIS – R1310 pp (4-5 hrs.)- KRUGER PARK (Minimum 2 people, single person inquire at reception)

We depart at 05:30 am. and return late afternoon (at noon on the half day safari). If you have booked bed and breakfast or dinner, bed, and breakfast as part of your accommodation package, your personal guide will prepare a delicious breakfast, overlooking one of the water holes. (On our half day safari we serve a packed breakfast so as not to encroach on the game viewing time). There will be a number of stops during the day, one of which you will have the opportunity to buy yourself lunch at one of the camp sites inside the Kruger. Experience the African bush and wilderness at its best. Our guides has a passion for the African bush and its creatures and are extremely experienced. They are enthusiastic to share their vast knowledge of this gem of Africa with you. The Kruger Park boast of over 140 animal species, including the Big 5 (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo) and 500 birds species.

SUNSET DRIVE – KRUGER PARK – R1190 pp (3 hrs., Minimum age: 6)
On the sunset drive you get to see all the nocturnal animals of Kruger that are usually absent during the day. Feel how your soul connects with Africa by experiencing yet another magnificent sunset over the African bush.

Make sure that you buy yourself some snacks and drinks at the shop by the Crocodile gate camp site before you get on the vehicle as there will be no stops along the way. Spotlights are provided on the open safari vehicle next to some of the seats so that you can help in the hunt for the glinting eyes of the nocturnal animals – An adventure not to be missed! We depart the lodge at 3:30 pm. and take you to the Kruger, assisting you in completing the indemnity forms and where the Sunset drive will start from 4:30 pm. to 7:30 pm. Back at the lodge one of our delicious 3-course candle-lit dinners will be waiting for you in the boma under the African Sky. (if you have included dinner during your booking process).

IMPORTANT: If you want to go on the Sunset drive on the day of your arrival, it is advisable to be at the lodge not later than 2:30 pm (or that your flight arrives before 1 pm at the Nelspruit airport). There are limited seats available and if we book the sunset safari on your behalf, I have to pay the Kruger Park immediately in order to secure your seats, I will therefore not be able to refund you if you are late or change your mind regarding this activity. For this reason it might be a good idea not to book a sunset drive on the day of your arrival.


MORNING WALK – KRUGER PARK – R1310 pp (3-4 hrs., Minimum age: 12)
Take a walk on the wild side in the Kruger National Park, get to feel and smell the bush where Kruger guides will introduce you to what Kruger has to offer on foot. You will be leaving the lodge at about 4:30 am. and be back at the lodge at about 10 am. for a well deserved hearty breakfast (if you have included breakfast during your booking process). Tracking of animals and the medicinal use of plants and trees are just a few of the topics that will be covered as well as identification and habits of birds and animals. Sightings of some of the Big 5 is a realistic possibility.

IMPORTANT: Please note that for safety reasons, the Kruger only allows 8 people at a time on the morning walk. It is therefore extremely important to let me know if you would like to do the morning walk so that I can book and secure this activity on your behalf. Please note that if we book the morning walk on your behalf, I have to pay the Kruger Park immediately, I will therefore not be able to refund you if you change your mind regarding this activity.



BUSH ORIENTATION WALK – MARLOTH PARK – R490 pp (1.5-3 hrs., all ages welcome)
Enjoy a leisurely walk on the border of the Kruger Park along the banks of the Crocodile river with our field guide, who will enlighten you with his knowledge and his passion for the African Bush. Zebra, Blue Wildebeest, Kudu, Warthog and Giraffe are just some of the game that you might encounter on the walk. You might also be lucky enough to see elephant, crocodile, buffalo and hippo’s on the Kruger park side of the fence. Our guide will also point out the amazing variety of bird species and trees in and around Kruger.



VISIT TO A SWAZI CULTURAL VILLAGE – R1310 pp (5-6 hrs., all ages welcome)
Visit the Swazi Cultural Village where you will get to learn some of the Swazi customs and way of life on a conducted tour through the village with one of the local guides. Get to watch them perform local dances in traditional dress and experience their amazing natural African talent for rhythm. The tour and dance takes about 1.5 hours. Curio shop and Cuisine lunch available for your own account. No visa necessary.



ELEPHANT INTER-ACTION – R1190 pp (1/2 hr., All ages welcome)   – ON A GAME RESERVE, 40 km FROM BUSHWISE SAFARI LODGE.
Get up close and personal with the elephants. We will take you to a game farm about 40 km from us to meet these magnificent animals of Africa. They will allow you to touch and exchange greetings with the elephants and experience their exceptional intelligence. (½ hr.) Departure from the lodge depends on booking time.

QUAD BIKING – R1190 (Minimum age: 6)
We offer mild to wild quad bike and scrambler trails for the whole family. Novice and more experienced and adventurous riders alike will enjoy action-packed scenic rides in the stunning Letubi Valley.

Thirteen individually rated trails offer three levels of difficulty. Seasoned two- and four-wheel bikers can take up the 11 km endurance challenge. The 5.2 km flat track will test die-hard speed junkies. Those not keen to ride can simply kick back in beautiful surroundings.


HORSE RIDING – GAME RESERVE, 40 km FROM BUSHWISE SAFARI LODGE – R1190 pp (1 hr., Minimum age: 6)
For the experienced as well as the novice rider, horse riding safaris are conducted on a private game farm about 40 km from us, Riders can explore the unspoilt African wilderness on horseback. Departure from the lodge depends on booking time.


TIGER FISHING – KOMATI RIVER, 25 km FROM BUSHWISE SAFARI LODGE – R1310 pp (5-6 hrs., Minimum age: 6)
By far the most powerful fresh water fish on Earth. Because of their furious teeth, their Scientific name is translated literally as water dog. Tiger fish have been recorded to hit their prey at 50km/h. They have 20 cone shaped teeth that are extremely sharp. A half day fishing safari (early morning or in the afternoon) takes place on the Komati river. An experienced fishing guide caters for the novice and experienced fisherman alike.
