This stunning day kicks off with an early departure and we’ll have you back at the lodge in the late afternoon or early evening.

We will make our way to the sleepy town of Hazyview where we will have a leg stretch. We will then make our way to Graskop and we will stop at the African Silk Shop and go on a short tour to see how the silk is produced, this also gives us the opportunity to buy some of these beautiful products. After this, our day really gets started with a number of beautiful viewpoints. These may include any or all of the following:

  • Lisbon Falls
  • Berlin Falls
  • Bourke’s Luck Potholes
  • Three Rondavels
  • Blyde River Canyon
  • Lunch at Harries Pancakes (for your own account)
  • Gods Window or Wonder View
  • The Pinnacle and
  • Mac Mac Falls

After we have completed our viewpoints, we will start to make our way back to the lodge via the idyllic town of Sabie and then onto Nelspruit and back to the lodge.

MAPUTO CITY FULL DAY TOUR – R2775 pp (9-10 hrs., all ages welcome)

Please note that this tour might not be offered during South African school holidays due to frequent lengthy delays at the border crossing between South Africa and Mozambique. Please confirm with us before booking.

In our neighbouring country of Mozambique we find Maputo (formerly Lourenco Marques), the capital of this fast growing nation. After many years of civil war, Maputo is now recovering its former glory and has re-emerged as a vibrant and resourceful city.

Home to some of the most magnificent Portuguese-style colonial buildings, a number of which house museums, Maputo is a must for those interested in the history and architecture of the region. Add to this world renowned Maputo beach front, the Tunduru Botanical gardens and a stop to sample the local cuisine at the famous Maputo Waterfront Restaurant and this becomes a day not to be missed.

Our day will kick off at 7am after breakfast. Our tour starts with a short drive to the Lebombo border past for immigration formalities. Please note that foreign tourists require a day visa which costs approximately R890 and is not included in the tour charge – you will be assisted by our guide. Please also ensure that you are in possession of a valid passport, otherwise you will be refused entry to Mozambique.

Once through immigration, we proceed East to Maputo – a drive of 100 kilometres which takes around 1.5 hour. We continue on to Maputo. Some of our highlights include:

  • Tunduru Botanical Gardens
  • Samora Machel Statue
  • Iron House

After a busy morning, it is time to sample the local fare at the famous Maputo Waterfront Restaurant, known for its fresh seafood (for your own account). Refreshed and replete, we now drive down the scenic palm-lined beach front on our way to more of the local attractions:

  • Natural History Museum
  • The Fortress – “Nossa Senhora da Conceicao”
  • Maputo Railway Station
  • Praca dos Trabalhadores and War Memorial

With our day drawing to a close it is now time for the hour’s drive back to the Lebombo border and then back “home” for another peaceful evening under the African stars. We aim to have you back at your accommodation in the late afternoon or early evening. Our drop off times will vary depending on how much time we spend at each of the museums and other places of interest.

SWAZILAND FULL DAY TOUR – R2155 pp (9-10 hrs., all ages welcome)

This tour starts at 7:30am and we will be back at the lodge in the late afternoon or early evening.

This full day tour includes:

  • A fully guided day tour
  • Entry fees into all viewpoints

This tour excludes:

  • Any alcoholic beverages and soft drinks that you may wish to have
  • Any souvenir shopping that you may do during the day

We will start to make our way to Jeppe’s Reef Border Post. Visa’s can be obtained at the border post (for your own account) – you will be assisted by our guide. Just before the border we will go into a traditional Swazi Village. We will go on a short tour through the village and then watch an incredible song and dance performance. A tour to this traditional Swazi cultural village is a once in a lifetime experience. The Swazi people have a rich and well preserved cultural history. Our visit to this centre will introduce us to their unique culture and treat us to folk dancing and traditional music.

We will then make our way into Swaziland where we will head to Piggs Peak for coffee at a viewpoint on top of the mountain and learn about the gold mining history of the area.

After this we will make our down to Maguga Dam and then onto Ngwenya Glass Factory where we can watch the local craftsman blowing glass the old fashioned way. We will have a chance to walk around the glass shop and buy some souvenirs. Everything in the shop is made on site and utilises recycled glass. We will have the opportunity to have lunch (for your own account) at the restaurant on site at Ngwenya Glass.

After lunch we will make our way down through the Ezulwini Valley and then make our way to Swazi Candles and watch the craftsmen make candles in every size and shape imaginable.

After we depart from Swazi Candles, we will start to make our way to Mananga Border Post and head back into South Africa in the late afternoon.

There are loads of opportunities to buy some beautiful hand crafted products. Ensure that you have your cash and cards available for this, as most of these products you can only find in Swaziland.
